25 years have passed since Earth was invaded by beings from another world. Here, the way people live has changed dramatically due to a "world ranking" that measures strength. Kinoko Kino, a high school girl with zero communication skills who moved to Tokyo from the countryside of Gunma, lives in fear, trying to make friends.
