Machino-san from the swim team always stops by the Domino Club—where I’m the only member—before her practice starts. She constantly bombards me with skit-style jokes, so I can’t help but fire back with retorts. Joke, retort, wordplay—day after day. Silly conversations, a touch of romance. Those fleeting summer clubroom days somehow felt eternal.
